Social Democratic Party (PSD) Chairman Sorin Grindeanu said that if the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) gives its opinion on Thursday regarding the draft law on magistrates' pensions, the Government could take responsibility for it in Parliament next week.
"You know my view very well and I continue to support it, that we lost one month when we should have used that period to submit a draft law and were not at the mercy of the CSM, but that is now in the past. And then, I hope the CSM will give its opinion so that on Thursday evening there can be a Government meeting and this draft can be sent and the Government can assumes responsibility. I believe it is in Romania's interest for the Government to hold a sitting immediately and send this draft law to Parliament. But, I have seen that votes are still taking place in various courts of appeal, such votes are scheduled. It would have been better not to remain in a situation of being held prisoner by a decision," Grindeanu said on Wednesday at the Palace of Parliament, agerpres reports.
The PSD leader mentioned that if this schedule is followed, the Government could assume responsibility for this draft law next week.
