The evaluation centers of COVID-19 patients and the hospitals' preparing for providing medical services for people infected with SARS-CoV-2, as well as for those with other pathologies, were the main topics tackled during a videoconference on Tuesday, with hospital managers and representatives of Public Health Directorates, summoned by the Minister of Health, Alexandru Rafila.

The Minister of Health highlighted the importance of outpatient evaluation where the persons infected with the novel coronavirus will be investigated and will benefit from treatment so that hospitals will no longer be overcrowded, Agerpres.ro informs.

"We are thinking about the best solutions for patients infected with SARS-CoV-2, as well as those that have other afflictions. It is essential for hospitals to remain functional. Patients with other pathologies need to keep having access to medical services," the Minister of Health said, quoted in a press release sent to AGERPRES.

Secretary of state with the Ministry of Health Adriana Pistol specified that it is important for patients diagnosed with COVID-19 to go to an evaluation center on the day they got their results in order to receive adequate treatment for their illness as quickly as possible. Thus, severe cases could be prevented, she highlighted.

"Patients infected with SARS-CoV-2 will not need a medical referral in order to go to the evaluation centers. They will be evaluated for free and treated for free, both insured patients, as well as those uninsured," the acting chairman of National Health Insurance House (CNAS), Adela Cojan, said, according to the press release.

The Ministry of Health will establish a centralization for evaluation centers and will create an interactive map for the citizens as quickly as possible.
