Meteorologists on Tuesday issued a new code yellow warning of particularly high temperatures, valid in more than half of the country until Wednesday morning.
According to the National Weather Administration (ANM), on Tuesday, August 11, in Oltenia, Muntenia, the south and part of central Moldavia and in most of Transylvania there will be particularly high temperatures, sparsely hot, with the thermal discomfort on the rise and the temperature-humidity index (THI) in some areas reaching critical 80.
Highs between 33 and 37 degrees Celsius, with the highest values in the south-west of Oltenia. On small areas, the night will be tropical with lows of 18 - 20 degrees Celsius.
In the same period, the counties of Cara-Severin, Timis, Arad, Bihor, Satu Mare, Salaj and Maramures are under a code orange warning for heatwave, heightened thermal discomfort and tropical night. AGERPRES
