President Klaus Iohannis stated on Thursday that the Social-Democratic leader Liviu Dragnea has moved on to attacks because he has run out of political arguments, the head of state deeming this to be an inadequate approach.
"I am not involved and I have never had any dictatorship leanings, nor do I intend [to them take up, e.n.]. It is worrisome. The man has got himself too large a hat, he can't handle it, he has run out of political arguments and is starting with personal attacks, family attacks. An inadequate approach. Had he been a simple politician, I would live like that as inadequate, but it very worrisome, because this man is leading the largest party, is Parliament's speaker and is leading the Government by proxy," Klaus Iohannis affirmed while in Brussels where he is participating in the NATO Summit, when asked how he perceives Liviu Dragnea's attacks and his accusations according to which the head of state would be involved in his conviction.
The President labeled as "obsession" the fact that Liviu Dragnea is talking about his suspension from office.
