Justice Minister Catalin Predoiu said on Tuesday that by the decision to exclude Judge Cristi Danilet from magistracy, the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) "risked a lot," and if this is the "new level of exigency" it wants to impose, then it must be done in a general manner and without exceptions.
On the case, he says that as long as the minister does not have the right to vote in the CSM in disciplinary matters and, on the other hand, given that the judge has stated that he will challenge the CSM decision in court, pending a final decision, the Minister of Justice is obliged by the nature of the office to refrain from any comments that could be interpreted as pressure in one way or another on the court.
On Monday, the Section for Judges in Disciplinary Matters of the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) decided to exclude Judge Cristi Danilet from the Cluj Tribunal from magistracy, for the manifestations he allegedly had on several social networks, Agerpres informs.
