Labour Minister Florin Manole said on Thursday that the European Union directive on pay transparency will be implemented on time in Romania.

He noted that the directive was one of the topics discussed with representatives of employers' organisations.

"The draft legislation [on pay transparency - ed. note] is currently in public consultation. We did not launch it into public consultation before holding a substantive social dialogue, which is why I do not believe you will see many significant criticisms of the draft. In other words, the project has been developed in agreement with both trade unions and employers through the procedure of the Social Dialogue Commission at the ministry. I believe we have met at least three times on this project. After completing the consultation stage, which is necessary and legally required anyway, we will move forward with the draft, and we will certainly meet the deadline for implementing the directive," Manole said at the Victoria Palace of Government
