At end-September 2025, loans to non-government sector granted by credit institutions increased 0.8 percent (0.4 percent in real terms) from August 2025 to RON 444,033.6 million, the National Bank of Romania (BNR) informs on Thursday.
RON-denominated loans, representing 69.1 percent of total volume of loans to non-government sector, grew by 0.5 percent, whilst foreign currency-denominated loans, holding 30.9 percent of total loans to non-government sector, picked up by 1.3 percent when expressed in RON (1.1 percent when expressed in EUR).
In year-on-year comparison, loans to non-government sector advanced 7.5 percent (-2.2 percent in real terms), on the back of the 6.5 percent increase in RON-denominated loans (-3.1 percent in real terms) and the 9.7 percent rise in foreign currency-denominated loans expressed in RON (7.5 percent when expressed in EUR).
At end-September 2025, credit to general government granted by credit institutions increased 0.7 percent from August 2025, to RON 257,819.5 million. In year-on-year comparison, this indicator grew by 15.9 percent (5.5 percent in real terms).
At end-September 2025, broad money (M3) amounted to RON 753,293.5 million, up 0.3 percent (-0.1 percent in real terms1) month on month. In year-on-year comparison, broad money rose by 7.9 percent (-1.8 percent in real terms).
