Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan on Sunday urged Romanians in the localities where local by-elections are being held to go out and vote.
'Five more hours of voting. I urge the people of Bucharest and citizens in the other localities where by-elections are taking place today to come out and vote and to cast their ballot. Vote for capable and honest people, vote for good administrators for your localities. Cast a rational vote, a wise vote. Come out and vote because the country is changing for the better with every locality and with every mayor who works properly for their community,' Ilie Bolojan wrote on his Facebook page.
Local by-elections are taking place on Sunday in the capital and in several localities across the country.
In Bucharest voting is being held for the election of the general mayor of the capital after Nicusor Dan won the presidential mandate in May.
Voting is also being held for the president of the Buzau County Council and for mayors in several localities.
