Independent candidate for Bucharest mayor Anca Alexandrescu said on Sunday evening that, regardless of the final result, she will continue to represent Romanians.
She thanked the people of Bucharest who turned out to vote, whatever their choice.
'This is a complicated moment for our country. I am sorry that so few people in Bucharest went to vote. (...) I do not want to make many comments at this time because, as you know, the exit polls reflect the results at 19:00. I would like to wait for the vote count to be completed. We know what happened in November 2024. What I want to say is that, regardless of the final result of the vote count, I will do exactly what I promised Romanians in recent weeks, namely justice in Bucharest, wherever I am. In fact, I will continue what I have been doing so far and I will represent them as I promised,' Anca Alexandrescu said at the Alliance for Romanians' Union (AUR) headquarters, where she was joined by the party leader, George Simion, and the alliance leadership.
