National Liberal Party (PNL) candidate for Bucharest mayor Ciprian Ciucu said that the majority vote he received on Sunday brings responsibility and that he wants to make Bucharest the project of his life.
'This vote brings responsibility. I thank the people of Bucharest very much for their vote and I thank those who supported me in this campaign. I want to send a message of unity to the parties in the governing coalition, especially the centre-right ones. We will have a lot of work together at the Bucharest City Hall, many projects to carry through. And as I said during this campaign, I want to make Bucharest the project of my life, not for the short term, but for the long term,' Ciprian Ciucu said after the first exit-poll results were announced.
PNL candidate for Bucharest mayor Ciprian Ciucu garnered 32.7% of the votes, while Social Democratic Party (PSD) candidate Daniel Baluta was credited with 26.3%, according to exit-poll results conducted by CURS-Avangarde.
Anca Alexandrescu, supported by the Alliance for Romanians' Union (AUR) party, is on the third place with 20.2% of the votes, and ranked fourth is Save Romania Union (USR) candidate Catalin Drula with 12.8%.
