MAE launches internship program regarding Romanian Presidency of EU Council

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) announces the launch of an internship programme called "InternshipRO2019EU," Bucharest component, dedicated exclusively to carrying out activities that entail Romania taking over and exercising the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, during the first semester of 2019.

According to a press release sent by the MAE, throughout the programme, 45 people will be able to get involved in planning, organizing and carrying out protocol activities within the events of Romania's Presidency of the EU Council. The participants in this programme will be able to carry out their activity within the MAE and will benefit from the provisions of Law No. 176/2018 regarding internship, including the right to receive a monthly indemnity, worth 3,000 lei gross. The MAE specifies that it will not bear other expenses involved by the interns' participation in this programme.

The duration of the programme will be 6 months, starting with the date when the internship programme is signed. The work schedule of the interns will be of maximum 40 hours every week and the activity period will be considered as seniority. The election of candidates will go through two stages, that of selecting files and the interview section.

For the "InternshipRO2019EU" Programme, Bucharest component, candidates must fulfill the following specific criteria: to be students or graduates of university studies, with a Bachelor's degree in the following fields: Law, Administrative Sciences, Communication Sciences, International Relations and European Studies, Political Sciences, Sociology, Military Sciences, Information and Public Order, Business Management, Economy and International Affairs, Management, Modern Languages, History, Cultural Studies; to know, at an advanced level, two or more official languages of the EU, of which one must be English.

The citizens interested in carrying out an internship programme within the MAE, in the context of Romania exercising the Presidency of the Council of the European Union can submit their registration file in the period of 2-6 December, following the presented instructions on the official website of the institution.
