Foreign Affairs Minister Teodor Melescanu welcomed on Thursday France's Ambassador to Romania Francois Saint-Paul, on which occasion the two had an opinion exchange on the bilateral relations and the challenges the European Union is currently facing. According to a release the Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE) sent to Agerpres, the two officials discussed about the prospects of the Romanian-French relations, as well as the calendar of the bilateral contacts in the next period, "underscoring the common commitment for strengthening the privileged bilateral relations and the continuation of implementing the updated roadmap of the Strategic Partnership in all its dimensions."
At the same time, Melescanu and Saint-Paul also approached the prospects of consolidating the European project, the Romanian chief diplomat reiterating "the importance of a structured and consistent Romanian-French coordination on a European level." During the dialogue, they evoked the excellent collaboration of the sides in preparing the Romania-France Cultural Season, a complex bilateral cultural programme which will take place between 1 December 2018 and 30 June 2019, the release also reads.
