The Romanian Cultural Institute (ICR) in Tel Aviv will host on Tuesday at 17:00 the conference called "Romanian operatic presences on the world stage," presented by Ioan Holender.
Drawing on his own experience in the world of opera, Holender - who led the Vienna State Opera (Wiener Staatsoper) for two decades - will evoke the careers of remarkable Romanian opera singers who successfully brought Romanian musical art to the most prestigious international stages, according to an ICR release sent to AGERPRES on Monday.
The event carries deep symbolic value, intended to highlight Romanian-Israeli cultural ties and the significant contribution of Romanian artists to the global musical heritage.
Born in Timisoara, Ioan Holender is one of the most prominent figures in the world of contemporary opera. He led the Vienna State Opera between 1992 and 2010 - becoming the longest-serving director in the institution's history - and served as president and artistic director of the "George Enescu" Festival in Bucharest. Through his entire career, Holender has become an ambassador of the Romanian culture in Europe and at international level, consistently promoting artistic excellence and intercultural dialogue.
