The radar surveillance system of the Ministry of National Defence (MApN) detected, overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday, an aerial target moving east of Izmail, in Ukrainian territory, near the river border with Romania. Two F-18 aircraft of the Spanish Air and Space Force, conducting Enhanced Air Policing service, took off to monitor the situation.
According to a MApN release sent to AGERPRES on Wednesday, the National Military Command Centre notified the Inspectorate General for Emergency Situations (IGSU) about the implementation of measures to alert the population in northern Tulcea County, and at 00:35 a RO-ALERT message was sent.
No incursions into national airspace were detected. The air alert ended at 00:10, the MApN informed.
