Minister Raluca Turcan: Sibiu is the most relevant cultural city of Romania

The minister of culture, Raluca Turcan, on Friday stated that Sibiu, a former European cultural capital, is "the most relevant cultural city of Romania," with one of its cafes being included now by the Council of Europe in its Cultural Route - Historic Cafés Route programme, told Agerpres.

"On every occasion, positive things happen in Sibiu from a cultural point of view, and this proves that Sibiu is, without any other comment, the most relevant cultural city in Romania, which is also being increasingly appreciated internationally, and for this I congratulate all those who helped creating this brand for Sibiu. The fact that the Council of Europe wants to support the tourism of the city of Sibiu by promoting its gastronomy, tradition, heritage, underlines the huge potential of Sibiu and the fact that it can represent the heritage and the historical and cultural richness of Europe very well," said Raluca Turcan.

A restaurant with a cafe was included, on Friday, in the Cultural Route of the Council of Europe - Historic Cafés Route, an event attended by the minister of culture, Raluca Turcan, who said that these cafes functioning in historical monument buildings can attract a lot of tourists.

Raluca Turcan believes that, "Romania has a huge potential in terms of built heritage, but also intangible heritage. Here, in this historic route of cafes, the built heritage is combined with the intangible heritage."
