Ministry of Finance plans loans of almost 6.5 billion RON from banks, in November 2024

The Ministry of Finance (MF) has planned, in November 2024, loans from commercial banks in the amount of 5.7 billion RON, to which the sum of 795 million RON can be added through additional sessions of non-competitive offers, related to bond auctions.

The total amount, of 6.495 billion RON, is 95 million RON higher than the one that was scheduled in October 2024, of 6.405 billion RON, and will be intended for refinancing the public debt and financing the state budget deficit.

According to the prospectus published in the Official Gazette, on November 7, an auction will be organized for an issue of treasury certificates with a discount, in the amount of 400 million RON, with maturity on October 27, 2025.

Also, during November 2024, auctions will be organized for nine benchmark bond issues, with a total value of 5.3 billion RON, followed the next day by an additional session of non-competitive offers, with a value of 15% of the initial value of the bond issue (795 million RON in total).

Thus, auctions were scheduled for three bond issues of 700 million RON each, on November 7, November 18 and November 21, for two issues of 600 million RON, on November 11 and November 25, and for four issues of 500 million RON each, on November 4, November 14, November 21 and November 28.
