Romania's Defence Ministry (MApN) is reiterating the fact that, lately, disinformation and manipulation have proliferated on line in Romania, especially on digital communication platforms, through which some people who express different opinions misrepresent themselves as current or former MApN employees.
The most recent situation of this kind, MApN says, is that of a person who manages accounts on the TikTok platform as "raisa 8283" and who is presented as a reserve lieutenant colonel and former agent of the so-called Army Secret Service.
"Following requests for clarification sent by some media organisations, we want to specify that the person in question does not appear in the records of the Ministry of National Defence as a reserve military officer and has never been employed by our ministry, much less in military intelligence organisations.'
