Romanian tennis player Miriam Bulgaru advanced on Friday to the semi-finals of the ITF tournament in Santa Margherita, Italy, with total prize money of 25,000 US dollars, after defeating Spanish player Yvonne Cavalle-Reimers 6-1, 6-0.
Bulgaru (24, world No. 184), the tournament's top seed, won after an hour and 16 minutes against a much weaker opponent (31, world No 540).
In the first round, Bulgaru defeated Swiss Ylena In-Albon 6-3, 6-2, and in the round of 16, she defeated Slovenian Polona Hercog 6-1, 6-2.
In the penultimate round, Bulgaru will face German player Katharina Hobgarski (26, world No 333), sixth seed.
The only other duel between the two took place in Santa Margherita, in April, and the Romanian won in the quarter-finals 6-2, 6-1.
