Prime Minister of the Government of Republic of Moldova Pavel Filip has stated on Friday that the North-Atlantic Alliance (NATO) will open an office in Chisinau, underscoring that "the Republic of Moldova's neutrality doesn't mean the isolation of this country."

Filip said, at the end of the meeting with Romanian PM Mihai Tudose, that the NATO office in Chisinau might be operational as of August 2017.

"We want and I assure you that we will further have a good collaboration with the North-Atlantic Alliance. (...) There is no obstacle and no barrier in opening this office, except for some technical issues and we hope that by August we would have fixed them so we have a NATO liaison office here in Chisinau," PM Filip mentioned.
