The prolongation of the state of alert is based on analyses, depending on several aspects, among them the need to detach personnel, said, on Thursday, in a press conference, the head of the Department for Emergency Situations, Raed Arafat, who added that, in his opinion, a moment where such a measure is no longer necessary is approaching.

"The state of alert facilitates for us certain ways to work. For example, you saw the need to detach personnel. Without the state of alert, we cannot detach personnel in this way. There are several aspects that are correlated with the state of alert so, if the situation improves, if these things are no longer necessary, then certainly then there will be a decision to not prolong. This is what's going to happen next month or in two months, this is to be analysed and the decision taken at the level of the National Committee for Emergency Situations and, of course, the Government," Arafat explained, Agerpres.ro informs.

He emphasized that, in the analysis on the need to extend the state of alert, the aspects that it facilitates are in view, in order to make sure the pressure of the situation is managed. "There are some things that, without a state of alert, we cannot maintain," the DSU head indicated.

Raed Arafat also said that the state of alert is a temporary situation.

"With certainty, the state of alert is not a thing that will be permanent, it's a situation that is provisional and nobody wants to maintain it a day longer than necessary. Yes, the moment is approaching, I believe, where we will say it is no longer needed. As for that moment, it is yet to be decided," he said.
