The monthly minimum consumption basket for a decent living standard for a two-adult and two-children family is 9,978 RON in September 2023, up 15.2 percent compared to September 2022, shows data published by the Friedrich Ebert Foundation Romania (FER) and Syndex Romania.
For a two-adult and one-child family, the minimum acceptable basket is 8,205 RON per month, that for a family of two adults without children - 6,162 RON per month, and the monthly basket for a single adult is 3,807 RON.
"The basket was recalculated based on the price indices announced by the National Institute of Statistics for September 2023 compared to September 2022.
