The Finance Ministry funnels more than RON 6 billion a month to health care, and compared to last year, spending from the Single National Health Insurance Fund increased by approximately 30 percent, announced Finance Minister Marcel Bolos.
The government meeting on Thursday decided the supplementation of the Health Ministry's 2024 budget by a total of RON 3.039 billion in commitment appropriations and RON 39 million in budget credits, to ensure continuity in the supply of medical materials and services, but also for covering the expenses with the own staff of the health insurance companies and of the National Health Insurance Office.
According to the finance minister, Thursday's extra allocation will allow the increase from RON 4.5 to 5 of the value of the medical services pricing point for specialty outpatient care, maintaining the value of per capita and per service points in primary medical assistance, as well as the monthly value for dental medical care.
"The proof that these are not mere words can be found in the budget execution account, which shows that over RON 6 billion are transferred every month from the Finance Ministry to health care, in order to ensure the proper functioning of hospitals, specialist outpatient facilities, payments for medicines, the provision of money for chronic disease programs, the payment of family doctors and many other categories of expenses that are absolutely necessary for the sick and suffering. Compared to last year, there is an increase by about 30 percent in the expenses of the Single National Health Insurance Fund," the finance minister wrote on Facebook.
Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu too announced the increase of the budget of the Single National Health Insurance Fund by more than RON 3 billion at the beginning of Thursday's government meeting.
