The average net nominal wage this June was RON 4,600, up by RON 57 (+1.3 pct) month over month, the National Institute of Statistics announced on Friday.
The average gross wage was RON 7,364, by RON 135 (+1.9 pct) higher compared to May 2023.
The average net nominal wage was highest in the manufacturing of coke oven and crude oil products, at RON 10,862, while the hospitality industry was at the opposite end with RON 2,525. Compared to June 2022 the average net nominal wage was 15.7 percent higher.
The real wage index was 104.9 percent for June 2023 as against the same month of the previous year, and 100.9 percent compared to May 2023. Compared to October 1990, the real wage index was 234.7 percent, 2 percentage points higher than in May 2023.
