New orders in Romania's manufacturing industry increased 6% in nominal terms during the first seven months of 2025, compared to the same period in 2024, according to data the National Institute of Statistics (INS) published on Wednesday.
According to the official statistics, between 1 January and 31 July 2025, increases were recorded in the durable goods industry (+12.4%), the consumer goods industry (+9%), the intermediate goods industry (+6.3%) and the capital goods industry (+5%).
In July 2025, new orders in the manufacturing industry as a whole (covering both domestic and foreign markets) rose in nominal terms 3.2% compared to June 2025, and 12.6% compared to July 2024.
Thus, in nominal terms, new manufacturing orders advanced overall 3.2% in July 2025 compared to the previous month, due to growth in the durable goods industry (+8.9%), intermediate goods industry (+4.9%), consumer goods industry (+4%) and capital goods industry (+1.8%).
Compared to the same month in 2024, new manufacturing orders went up in nominal terms 12.6% in July 2025, driven by growth in the durable goods industry (+18.9%), intermediate goods industry (+15.5%), consumer goods industry (+14.7%) and capital goods industry (+10.5%).
