Nicusor Dan to take oath as President of Romania in Parliament on Monday at noon

The Senate and the Chamber of Deputies will convene on Monday at 12:00 in the solemn session in which the president-elect, Nicusor Dan, will take the oath, the leadership of the Parliament decided on Thursday.

The Constitutional Court of Romania validated the results of the presidential elections on Thursday.

According to the Constitution, "the candidate whose election has been validated shall take the following oath before the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate, in joint session: 'I swear to devote all my power and skill to the spiritual and material prosperity of the Romanian people, to respect the Constitution and the laws of the country, to defend democracy, the fundamental rights and freedoms of citizens, the sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity of Romania. So help me God!'".

According to the internal memorandum approved by the joint Permanent Bureaus, former heads of state, members of the interim Government, members of the Constitutional Court, MEPs, the Custodian of the Crown, Margareta, Prince Radu, representatives of central public institutions, authorities and institutions under parliamentary control, European institutions, religious denominations, heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Romania are invited to the solemn meeting.
