The Bilateral Chamber of Commerce and Industry Republic of Moldova - Romania, in partnership with the Invest Moldova Agency, is organising on Thursday the fifth edition of the Economic Mission of Moldovan Producers, an event dedicated to promoting bilateral trade partnerships and investment opportunities.
According to a press release from the organisers, the event is supported by the World Bank and implemented by Gateway & Partners, with the aim of strengthening economic relations between the two countries and facilitating access for Romanian companies to competitive, EU-certified products.
This year's edition will bring together more than 50 Moldovan producers from five strategic sectors - food products, fresh fruit, wine, furniture and packaging - who will hold individual B2B meetings with potential partners from Romania.
The participating producers include 12 companies from the food industry, with exports worth over USD 628 million in 2024, 22% of which went to Romania; 11 fresh fruit producers, with exports of USD 66.5 million to Romania, up 37% from 2023; 10 renowned wineries, with exports of USD 143.5 million in 2024 and over 7,000 international medals won in the past five years; 10 furniture producers, with exports worth USD 146 million, Romania being the main destination market; and eight producers of packaging and hygiene products, with exports of USD 40.6 million, up 11% over the past four years.
"This economic mission reflects our shared commitment to pragmatic and effective regional cooperation. We invite Romanian companies to explore new business opportunities and discover authentic products ready for the European market," said Andrei Crigan, President of the Bilateral Chamber of Commerce and Industry Republic of Moldova - Romania, as quoted in the release.
The Economic Mission is part of the Export Mission programme run by the Invest Moldova Agency, which supports the internationalisation of Moldovan SMEs. So far, the programme has assisted more than 220 companies, generating exports worth over EUR 5 million and organising five annual editions across eight countries.
