More than seven in ten companies (over 70%) in Romania offer their employees gift vouchers for important events in their lives to motivate them and confirm their contribution to the success of the organization they are part of, shows a survey carried out by a company specializing in the sale of such payment instruments.
According to the specialists in the Up Group (formerly Cheque Déjeuner Group), offering gift vouchers represents a number of financial benefits for companies as well, subject to the regulations of the Fiscal Code, in force since January 1, 2016.
"Thus, on the occasion of March 8, companies can give gift vouchers to employees, and their values are non-taxable and exempt from contributions of up to 150 lei per person. Also, gift vouchers benefit from deductibility in calculating the profit up to 5% of the salary-related expenditures. The new regulations of the Fiscal Code, in force since January 1, 2018, have no impact on these advantages of gift vouchers," explains the company's representatives.
According to the cited source, gift vouchers simplify this logistics of gifts - from choice, acquisition, sorting, wrapping, storage and distribution - and the beneficiaries receive personalized vouchers with their dates and the company logo.
The Up Group sells products and services in different forms (vouchers, cards or mobile applications) in 18 countries.
