Romanian gymnast Sabrina Maneca Voinea said on Tuesday, after Romania's women's team final of the artistic gymnastics competition at the Paris Olympic Games, that together with the team they proved their worth.
"It was a very good competition; we want to thank Nadia [Comaneci] for being with us and for being proud of us. We hope that in the end it will be even better, because we can. We have shown that we can do it, we have advanced one place, we have proved to everyone that we are good. I am proud of myself and my team. Now, the worries begin for me, for the beam and floor final," said Sabrina Voinea.
She would like to follow in David Popovici's footsteps in terms of the Olympic medal and says that she will "push hard" to fulfil her dream: "I saw the race in which David Popovici won the gold medal. I want to follow in his footsteps, to get medals myself. And I will work hard for my dream."
Romania's women's artistic gymnastics team ranked 7th in the final on Tuesday at the Paris Olympic Games.
Romania, out of the women's team Olympic competition after the 2012 edition, when it won bronze, managed to climb one place from the qualifications, which it finished in eighth position.
