The joint committees for foreign affairs and the Romanian communities overseas of the Senate and Deputies' Chamber on Thursday, after hearings, issued favourable opinions for the ambassadors who were proposed to represent Romania to the EU and NATO.
The persons in question were: Iulia Raluca Matei, secretary of state with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE), who was proposed to head the Permanent Representation of Romania to the European Union, and Danut Sebastian Neculaescu, secretary of state with the MAE, proposed to head Romania's Permanent Delegation to NATO.
The president of the committee for foreign affairs of the Senate, Titus Corlatean, congratulated the two candidates for the offices of extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassadors of Romania for their professional achievements and wished them good luck in their important mission of promoting the interests of the Romanian state in the European Union and NATO, a press release of the Senate told AGERPRES on Thursday.
The hearings took place in a mixed scenario, physically and online, at the Senate headquarters.
