The solemn session of Parliament dedicated to the Great Union of December 1, 1918 marks, in fact, one of Romania's "astral moments", which took place 107 years ago in Alba Iulia, stressed, on Tuesday, in the plenary session, the leader of the national minorities group, Varujan Pambuccian.

"Today we are actually celebrating one of Romania's astral moments, a moment that happened 107 years ago, in Alba Iulia, a moment when, in front of a large popular gathering, an exceptional document was read, the fruit of an enlightened mind that, unfortunately, we have somewhat forgotten. We talk a little about this man. His name was Vasile Goldis and he was probably one of the most balanced political minds of the time and one of the most advanced political minds of the time. (...) From time to time it is good to read this document", Pambuccian declared at the Parliament tribune.

According to him, the document conceived mainly by Vasile Goldis is the basis of a modern nation, composed of the peoples living at that time on the territory of Romania.

"That document was so well thought out that, whenever we deviated from it, it was bad for the Romanian nation and for Romania as a state. Whenever we went in the direction of that way of thinking, it was good for the Romanian nation and Romania was great. I think that few nations in this world can boast of such a powerful founding document. I think that few nations have managed to mobilize around such a document that talks about construction, talks about balance, about citizen rights and about the rights of the peoples that form the nation. That is why, among those who make up our parliamentary group, and were in Transylvania at the time, almost all of them had gatherings similar to the one in Alba Iulia, in support of this document, because it addressed a construction that was inclusive and was not against anyone. This is one of the extraordinary aspects of "to the political architect who was Vasile Goldis. I believe that he inspired the generation that followed, immediately after the war," Varujan Pambuccian said.
