Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos announced on Monday night that he leaves to the Parliament a legal change of the relevant law to restore the two-round poll in local elections, but the Government is ready to support it.
"I had meetings with all the parties represented in the Parliament. (...) It was an informal consultation. (...) This is an entirely political matter. I have noted that majorities in the Parliament are quite volatile. (...) I won't accept turning the Government into an instrument of any party," Ciolos told media at the Government headquarters.
This seems to exclude a legislative action of the Government by means of an emergency ordinance.AGERPRES
