The National Liberal Party (PNL) requests the immediate dismissal of the National Agency for Fiscal Administration Chief for breaching the freedom of the press.

"The National Liberal Party requests the immediate dismissal of the ANAF Chairman for grossly breaching the freedom of the press through abusive use of a state institution against an investigative publication. Such behavior is intolerable in any country that guarantees fundamental rights and freedoms. We cannot consider a coincidence the fact that the ANAF representatives raided the Rise Project newsroom, a few hours after the disclosures about the Chairman of the party at rule, namely leader of the PSD [Social Democratic Party] Liviu Dragnea," a release of Chairman of the PNL Ludovic Orban sent to agerpres. on Thursday reveals.

He stated that tolerating such behavior by some institutions of the Romanian state would "mean to tolerate a precedent which brings a serious undermine of the democratic values, a relinquishment in favour of an abuse of the freedom of expression which is guarantee by the Constitution."

Orban also requests the dismissal of ANAF representatives in charge with taking this measure.

In the document published on Thursday by Rise Project journalists, which they claim was drafted by the General Directorate for Internal Protection (DGPI) in 2011, it is stated that the government led by Tariceanu would have allocated 25.7 million lei, without a tender, to Tel Drum company in order to rebuild the infrastructure that was affected by the floods in Teleorman County.
