The chairman of the National Liberal Party (PNL), Nicolae Ciuca, declared on Thursday that there is no question for president Klaus Iohannis to occupy a position of European commissioner, being asked if he would be willing to take over the position of interim president of Romania in the event that president Klaus Iohannis would obtain a position of European commissioner.
"First of all, there is no question of president Klaus Iohannis occupying a position of European commissioner. Secondly, this is not about my availability, but about the provisions of the duties that are established for the President of the Senate," Ciuca said at PNL headquarters.
Asked if there is still a question, at this moment, of the president getting another position at the European level this fall, the PNL leader replied that he had not discussed this with the head of state.
