The National Liberal Party (PNL) unanimously approved on Tuesday to support the second package of fiscal measures, with the Government taking responsibility for it in Parliament, First Vice-President of the party Ciprian Ciucu stated.
"We, the PNL, unanimously voted today to endorse this second package of measures and to support it through the Government confidence procedure," Ciprian Ciucu mentioned at the PNL central headquarters, after the meeting of the party's Executive Bureau, agerpres reports.
He added that the Government will take responsibility on the second package of measures next week, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.
The First Vice-President of the PNL mentioned that those chapters in the second package regarding the fiscal measures, about which the Social Democratic Party (PSD) said they need be revised, shall be re-discussed.
"Obviously, we are open to discuss on these aspects. We must understand that the Government must take responsibility on this package and, obviously, the PSD also, which is a part of the government and we will also discuss about these subchapters, but it doesn't mean that Romania should not move forward. I want to draw attention on the fact that the first package was implemented very quickly, no one had any problem coming and imposing, perhaps, some tougher conditions on the population, but when it comes to the second package, which includes a lot of accountability for the administration and the state, when it comes to cutting privileges, we already see interference or signs that the coalition is stalling and the deadline is being postponed. What I see is that this package is delayed and all sorts of conditions emerge. Thus, I expect all the parties that signed the governing agreement to observe this agreement," Ciucu stated.
