The Bucharest National University of Science and Technology, through the Faculty of Medical Engineering, will organize on Thursday and Friday the first edition of MedFEST, an event dedicated to medical engineering and its impact on health, science and industry, informs Agerpres.
According to the organizers, "Engineering - The Future of Medicine" is the slogan under which MedFEST gathers technology and innovation to build a healthier and more accessible future for everyone.
The event, which will take place on the university campus, aims to bring Romania to the forefront of innovation and will be a meeting point for young people passionate about innovation and technology, as well as an opportunity to discover careers and opportunities in this revolutionary field.
"MedFEST represents an important step in strengthening the link between education, research and industry, highlighting innovation and advances in the field of medical engineering. It is an opportunity to bring together students, professionals and leading companies from this dynamic sector to explore how advanced technologies can revolutionize medicine and improve people's lives," said the rector of the National Polytechnic University of Science and Technology Bucharest, Mihnea Costoiu, quoted in a statement sent to AGERPRES on Wednesday.
According to Costoiu, the global market of medical technologies has already reached a value of 430 billion dollars and is estimated to exceed 700 billion by 2028, which demonstrates the scope and impact of this sector.
"For our young people, this event is an ideal platform for learning and connecting with their future careers, and for the medical industry, an opportunity to collaborate with the newest talents and innovative ideas. At a time when technology and medicine are evolving rapidly , Politehnica Bucharest is committed to being a catalyst of progress, both through education and by facilitating such events that open new perspectives on the future health," the rector mentioned.
The event will include a series of exhibitions of state-of-the-art technologies - from exoskeletons that support mobility, to high-precision diagnostic and treatment equipment.
Also, visitors will be able to witness interactive demonstrations and captivating presentations about how medical engineering can contribute to improving the quality of life and health.
In addition to technological exhibitions, MedFEST will also offer thematic conferences supported by international experts, specialized workshops and presentations from top companies in the industry. The participants will have the opportunity to interact with researchers and professionals in the field and to explore new perspectives on the jobs of the future.
"How does medical engineering contribute to the prevention of diseases, but also what are the latest advances in the field of prosthetics and organs created in the laboratory, all questions will find their answers at MedFEST. The event is open to the general public, young people, pupils and students who want to learn more about how medical engineering can shape the future in the field of health," the organizers said.
