The parish priest of the "Protection of the Mother of God" Church in the village of Ghidighici thanked the Presidents of the Republic of Moldova and Romania, Maia Sandu and Nicusor Dan, who paid a visit to the place of worship near Chisinau on Sunday.
"I voice my deep gratitude to the High Guests for their love and the time they offered from their busy schedules to make this historic visit to the Orthodox Parish of Ghidighici," Parish Priest Maxim Melinti wrote on his Facebook page, according to the Basilica News Agency of the Romanian Patriarchate.
The priest showed the guests the old church, the new church which is under construction and which will be devoted to the "Transfiguration of Jesus" feast, as well as the "Island of Happiness" Social Center, where catechetical, charitable and social projects are carried out, the Basilica News Agency mentioned.
President Nicusor Dan was on a private visit to the Republic of Moldova at the end of last week, where he went on a hike with his family on the Condrita estate near Chisinau. He also took part, alongside President Maia Sandu, in the Wolf Festival held in the Orheiul Vechi nature reserve.
