President Nicusor Dan said on Wednesday, when asked whether he had a phone conversation with his American counterpart Donald Trump, that he neither confirms nor denies the matter.
"There are phone calls, like the one with Ms. von der Leyen yesterday morning, for which there is a prior agreement on what will be communicated. There are other phone calls, for those, I neither confirm nor deny, where no such agreement exists, and in those cases, I will make no comment," explained Nicusor Dan in a statement to the press in front of his residence.
He added that in recent days, there have been several exchanges through diplomatic channels.
"I believe our relationship is in the process of improving," said the head of state.
Asked whether he will go to Washington, he replied that he will go if he is invited.
"As our bilateral relations progress, we will keep you informed," President Nicusor Dan said.
