President Klaus Iohannis on Monday signed a decree establishing in Italy a consular agency of Romania in Cagliari operating under the authority of the Consulate General of Romania in Rome.
A travelling consulate was set up October 5-8, 2022, in Cagliari, Sardinia. A team of the Consulate General of Romania in Rome went there in order to provide consular services and consular assistance to Romanian citizens residing in the area.
Consular officers provided 370 consular services, representing applications for issuing passports, issuing travel documents and criminal records, drawing up notarial deeds and civil status documents. The Romanian nationals in the area were also issued passports for which they had previously applied at the headquarters of the office in Rome, according to the Romanian Foreign Ministry (MAE).
