President Nicusor Dan on Thursday stated that he does not consider that prime minister Ilie Bolojan should resign if the reform packages are declared wholly or partially unconstitutional.

"I made about four or five objections, constitutionality challenges. One was admitted, one was rejected. The Constitutional Court saw things differently than I saw them. We are in a democracy, yes. Law is not a science, it is not exactly mathematics, it is a matter of interpreting some texts that are written in natural language, while in natural language you can have ambiguities," the head of state told Digi 24 private television broadcaster.

He said that, in this case "it was absolute good faith on the part of the Government and the coalition".

"But it happens, in life, in legal science, that what you think is legal and constitutional is not. It still happens, it's absolutely nothing," said Nicusor Dan.
