President Nicusor Dan promulgated on Thursday the law declaring 2026 as "Traian Vuia Year", marking 120 years since Vuia's pioneering self-powered flight.
The law allows Parliament, the Presidency, the Government and local authorities to organise or support cultural, educational and scientific events celebrating aviation engineer Traian Vuia and promoting his scientific and historical legacy. Institutions may allocate funds from their own budgets for these activities, within approved budget limits.
