Presidential adviser Diana Paun said on Tuesday that doctors who do not want to be vaccinated and urge others not to do so "have no place in this profession".
The clarifications were made in the context in which the interim Minister of Health, Cseke Attila, declared on Tuesday that the draft law to establish the compulsoriness of the COVID digital certificate for medical staff was submitted to public debate. According to him, the people in the medical system who are not vaccinated, have not gone through the disease and are not tested, will have their individual employment contracts suspended for 30 days, and then the employment contracts would end.
In the "Wave 4: Impact, Threats, Solutions" debate organized by DC News Media Group, the presidential adviser said that vaccination "remains the best weapon" against the virus, adding that many Western states are already "on the downward slope and have managed to control" the fourth wave of the pandemic.
According to the presidential adviser, Romania is one of the states with a "very low degree of vaccination", which is why the country's population is "more aggressively exposed" to wave 4, Agerpres informs.
