Over 900,000 Romanian citizens voted in the diaspora, until Sunday, 12:00 pm, in the second round of the presidential elections, according to data provided in real time by the Permanent Electoral Authority (AEP).
According to the AEP, from the opening of the polls on Friday (7:00 am, local time) until Sunday, 12:00 pm, 904,545 Romanian citizens voted abroad, of which 3,139 by mail, agerpres reports.
The presence at the polls abroad is higher than in the first round of the presidential elections on May 4, when 502,955 Romanian citizens had voted until Sunday, at 12:00 pm.
Most Romanians voted in the second round of the elections in Italy - 158,351, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland - 141,251, Germany - 138,984, the Republic of Moldova - 103,065, Spain - 101,331, France - 45,608. In the USA, 18,392 voters voted and in Canada - 12,140.

Voting in the diaspora in the presidential elections takes place over three days - it started on Friday at 7:00 am (local time) and ends on Sunday at 9:00 pm (Romania time).
Romanian citizens who are abroad on election day can vote in the 965 polling stations in the diaspora organized for this year's presidential elections, regardless of whether or not they have their domicile or residence outside the country.
