PSD Spokesman: I am convinced that PM has nothing against dismissals after tax agency evaluation
Social Democratic Party (PSD) Spokesman Lucian Romascanu on Tuesday said that he is convinced that Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu has no problem that, following evaluations and if things do not work, there will be resignations at the National Agency for Fiscal Administration (ANAF), at the proposal of the Finance Minister, told Agerpres.
Romascanu was asked how he comments on the Liberals' request to the Minister of Finance to dismiss the entire management of ANAF and the management of the Romanian Customs Authority.
"I understand that we are in line with the collection plan at the moment, from discussions with Mr Bolos. There have been some syncopes, really. I have no problem and I am convinced that Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu also has no problem that, following the evaluations, if things do not work, at the proposal of the Minister of Finance there will be resignations. I have not seen at this moment other than political statements related to resignations, I have not seen a request from the Minister who is the only one entitled to make this evaluation and request in this direction. I guarantee that the Romanian Government, for the mission it has assumed, that of reducing evasion and balancing Romania's tax and budget, will not hesitate to take any kind of measure based on a well-founded proposal from the Ministry of Finance," Romascanu said at the Palace of Parliament.
He mentioned that from the formal and informal discussions he had with members of the Government he understood that ANAF had a syncope at the beginning of the year, then a more difficult period in September, after which "they got in line with the plan" for collections.
"The framework in which Mr. Bolos has to present his evaluations and request measures is the Romanian Government. I hope that this coalition will find the springs of patience and wisdom so that we can communicate together what we are doing well and stop this quarrel that is doing absolutely no one any good and never has," he said.
