The pressure exerted on the members of the Federation of Free Trade Unions in Education (FSLI) , which have decided to boycott the simulation of the national evaluation exam, are very high, George Purcaru, first vice president of FSLI told AGERPRES.
He pointed out that there were occasions when there were brought supervisors from outside the respective institution or the children were moved to other educational units.
"I am trying to find all my colleagues, to see exactly how we have boycott." The pressures are very high on the part of the inspectorates and at the level of the educational units. I have information that, in some schools there were brought supervisors from outside the respective institution or, in other counties, they took the children and moved them to other educational units. The pressures on our colleagues were very high," Purcaru said.
Asked what the union would do after the boycott, the FSLI vice president said he would continue the protests as established.
Marian Banu, the spokesperson for the Bucharest School Inspectorate (IMSMB) told AGERPRES that the simulation of the national evaluation is carried out according to the program established in all the educational units in the Capital City.
He said that in the few schools in the Capital, where some teachers said they would boycott the simulation of the National Evaluation, the members of the commission were replaced.
Teachers from 1,100 schools in 28 counties and Bucharest, affiliated to the Federation of Free Trade Unions (FSLI), will boycott the simulation of the national assessment exam, which takes place on 5-7 March 2018, the trade union organization announced. Employees in education have resorted to this form of protest because of the major discontent and lack of response from the Government, but also from the leaders of the two chambers in the Romanian Parliament, at the federation's request.
The requests of the trade union members, which were sent to the Romanian Government and to the leadership of the two chambers of the Romanian Parliament, aim to solve the problem regarding the re-appointment of the teaching staff after the entry into force of the Framework Law no. 153/2017 on the remuneration of staff paid from public funds; the salary increase from March 1, 2018, is not conditional on the joining of educational units, staff layoffs and cuts in legal wage rights; increasing the standard cost per pupil/pre-school for material expenses so that parents will no longer have to bring home school money.
