Romania and Danish writer Janne Teller will hold the status of guest country and guest of honor, respectively, at the 30th edition of the Budapest International Book Festival, which will take place between October 2 and 5 at the Balna Center for Military Culture in Budapest, the event's organizers announced on Thursday.

The organizers expect the festival to draw a record number of 162 exhibitors, 118 programs and over 300 events dedicated to book releases accompanied by autographs.

Danish writer Janne Teller will be rewarded with the Budapest Grand Prize.

The Romanian Ministry of Culture, in collaboration with the Romanian Cultural Institute in Budapest, will present the diverse literature of Romania in a separate pavilion, through a series of programs, Katalin Gal, a representative of the organizer, the Hungarian Publishers and Booksellers Association, told a press conference on Thursday.

The French Institute in Budapest will also announce a new award for young literary translators from French into Hungarian, Katalin Gal added.
