Romania is represented for the first time with a national stand at the most important European event dedicated to potato production, the PotatoEurope outdoor exhibition for potato cultivation and machinery, which is underway in the Belgian city of Tournai from September 6 to 7 2023, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MADR) announced Wednesday on its Facebook page.
According to the source, participation in this event is an opportunity for Romanian researchers and farmers, both from the perspective of exchanging views with peer institutes and consolidating expertise in the field, as well as presenting the Romanian contribution to the development of the potato production process, agerpres reports.
Participating in the trade fair on behalf of Romania are the Romanian Farmers' Club together with the Research and Development of Potato Station Targu Secuiesc and the Research and Development Station for Plant Culture on Sands Dabuleni.
"The importance of the event was marked by its opening in the presence of Belgian Deputy Prime Minister David Clarinval, responsible for agriculture and SMEs in the Belgian federal government. On the first day of the event, the Belgian Deputy Prime Minister visited Romania's stand," MADR notes on Facebook.
