Romania's double sculls teams qualified on Tuesday for the A Finals at the World Rowing Championships in Shanghai (China), with the best times from the semifinals.
In the women's double sculls, Simona Radis and Magdalena Rusu won the first semifinal with a score of 6 min 58 sec 53/100.
Florin Arteni and Florin Lehaci won the second semifinal in the men's double sculls, with a score of 6 min 21 sec 99/100.
In the men's coxless four event, Alexandru Gherasim, Nicu Chelaru, Cristian Nicoara and Bogdan Horodisteanu finished 4th place in the first semifinal (5:53.20), six seconds behind the third place, occupied by Ukraine. The first three crews in the semi-final qualified for Final A, and the rest will compete in Final B.
Romania qualified two crews directly for Final A, in women's four sculls and women's coxless four.
Romania is participating with 12 crews in the World Rowing Championships in Shanghai (China), from September 21-28, including the mixed double sculls and 8+1 events, introduced for the first time in the competition.
