Romania's national women handball team clearly defeated Norway, the title's holder, 31-23 (18-12) on Wednesday night in Brest, France, in its last match in Group D of the European Women's Handball Championship - EHF EURO 2018 in France
The tricolours have had an outstanding match, gaining their first victory against Norway in a final tournament after an 18-year break.
Romania won the group and heads for the main groups with maximum of points, namely four.
Yuliya Dumanska was designated the best player of the game, with 14 balls defended and an excellent 44 percent save rate.
Romania ranks first in the Group with 6 points, seconded by Germany, 4 points, Norway, 2 points, Czech, 0 points. The first three have qualified for the main groups.
Romania and the Netherlands will kick off the main Group 2 with 4 points each, Hungary and Germany will have 2 points each, whilst Spain and Norway will have to deal with 0. Romania will play the next match against the Netherlands on 9 December, in Nancy.
