The Romanian Digitalization Authority (ADR) signed a cooperation agreement with the Romanian Farmers' Club on Friday aimed at streamlining inter-institutional relations by accelerating digitalization in public administration and the private sector, informs Agerpres.
According to an ADR press release, the institution continues to establish partnerships with representatives of civil society with a view to co-opting them into the National Council for Digital Transformation (CNTD).
"The Romanian Digitalization Authority supports all initiatives that ultimately result in a public administration that is open to citizens. We leave no one behind and offer support in the field of digitalization with a focus on training in digital skills specific to agriculture, in order to provide the most diverse services possible. Together, we are adapting to changes in the market economy and becoming competitive, following the guidelines of the European Union and adapting best practices for the benefit of the state by using the most advanced technologies, especially in the field of agriculture," ADR president Dragos-Cristian Vlad was quoted as saying in the press release.
The Romanian Farmers' Club for High-Performance Agriculture is a non-profit, non-governmental association of farmers in Romania, focused on developing the agricultural sector by increasing competitiveness and resilience.
"I am pleased to see the increased interest of the agricultural sector in digitalization and the active involvement of the younger generation, of which I am a part, who want to develop and streamline this field by using all innovative tools. These initiatives reflect our firm commitment to implementing modern solutions, adapted to emerging technologies, designed to support competitiveness, transparency, and sustainability in agriculture and the economy," said Alexandra Chivu, ADR vice president and CNTD coordinator.
Florian Ciolacu, executive director of the Romanian Farmers' Club, believes that high-performance Romanian agriculture will become a real driver of development for Romania, through its direct link with digitalization.
"Over the years, we have built a solid relationship with ADR. The fact that digitalization has become a priority issue for agriculture is also due to the Club's involvement in promoting this issue at the national level. I am convinced that high-performance Romanian agriculture will become a real vector of development for Romania, through its direct link with digitalization. We will develop scalable and predictable solutions, we will interconnect and interoperate databases to provide real-time data to every farmer, and we will use advanced technologies, such as artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things, which are so necessary in the agricultural sector," said Florian Ciolacu.
The partnership directly addresses the needs of the Romanian agri-food sector, as highlighted by the latest European analyses: digitalization in agriculture is key to efficiency, traceability, competitive exports, and resilience to risks.
