The Government approved in Wednesday's meeting a decision by which it regulates the amount and conditions for granting lump sums for foreign citizens or stateless persons in special situations from the area of armed conflict in Ukraine.
The decision implements Emergency Ordinance 96/2024, which created a new regulatory framework in the field.
"The normative act provides for the period in which beneficiaries can be granted lump sums to cover accommodation expenses for a maximum of 3 consecutive months; the amounts they benefit from are 750 RON/month for a single person and 2,000 RON /month for a family. Also, the amounts granted to the previous beneficiaries, housed in the locations established by the county committees, as well as of the Bucharest municipality for emergency situations, are reduced from 750 RON to 500 RON/month for a single person and from 2,000 RON to 1,500 RON/month for a family", reads a Government's release.
According to another modification, in the case of pre-schoolers and preschoolers, the condition to be enrolled in study groups is also considered fulfilled in the situation where the applicant presents a document issued by the pre-university education unit that shows that the minor cannot be enrolled, from lack of seats. Previously, this possibility did not exist, the cited source mentions.
"In addition, the verifications carried out through the PatrimVen IT system and the Integrated IT System of Romanian Education (SIIIR) are eliminated. At the same time, it is established that the amounts resulting from the application of Government Decision No. 368/2023 and not transferred to the administrative-territorial units/subdivisions are transferred at the date of the budget allocations with this destination", the press release explains.
